Cisco General Counsel Speaks at 43rd Annual Corporate Counsel Institute

December 02, 2004

Mark Chandler, general counsel and vice president of legal services at Cisco Systems, Inc. will speak about cutting-edge management strategies for in-house legal departments at Northwestern University School of Law's 43rd Annual Corporate Counsel Institute in San Francisco, Dec. 2 and 3.

Every year distinguished legal and business professionals from across the nation attend the Corporate Counsel Institute to hear expert analysis of current trends and developments facing corporate counsels. This year's institute, which will take place at the Hotel Nikko, 222 Mason St., will focus on legal and regulatory issues in corporate governance, including topics on ethical obligations of in-house counsel and current developments in intellectual property litigation, employment law, corporate security, and outsourcing.

Chandler, who will speak on Dec. 2, will share his insights on finding the balance between implementing business objectives, fiscal responsibility, and adhering to global legal requirements—a major concern for many corporations in today's business environment.

The institute is presented by the Corporate Counsel Center of Northwestern University School of Law in cooperation with the Bar Association of San Francisco's Corporate Law Department.

The Corporate Counsel Institute is recognized for mandatory continuing legal education credit in most states. For a complete program agenda and registration information, visit Continuing Executive Education.
