International Law Society Presents International Law Week

April 02, 2001

In April the Northwestern International Law Society organized the first annual International Law Week at the Law School. The week's activities brought together local academics and experts in international law. Topics covered throughout the week included "International Business Law: Myths and Realities" and "Combating Impunity for International Crime."

On Thursday, April 3, Professor Anthony D'Amato moderated a lunchtime discussion on International Human Rights Law. Panelists included (pictured from left) Professor Mark Wojcik, John Marshall Law School; Professor Ryan Goodman, University of Chicago Law School; and Professor Douglass Cassel, director of the Center for International Human Rights at Northwestern Law.

The Northwestern International Law Society promotes and encourages the awareness, study, and understanding of international law and related issues. Student leaders encourage communication and cooperation among law students and lawyers internationally and advocate opportunities to learn about other cultures and legal systems worldwide.
