Journal Symposium Addresses International Insolvency Issues

February 12, 2015

Expert law faculty and practitioners will discuss international insolvency issues at this year’s Journal of International Law and Business symposium, “Money Makes the World Go Round.” The event will take place on February 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the student area of the Bluhm Legal Clinic.

The Honorable Bruce A. Markell, professor of law and retired U.S. bankruptcy judge, will moderate a discussion with panelists James H.M. Sprayregen, partner at Kirkland & Ellis with expertise in representing financially restructuring companies; Peter Knight, partner at Latham & Watkins whose focus is on representing secured lenders in out of court economic proceedings; and Jason Kilborn, professor at John Marshall Law School and a leading scholar on the comparative law of consumer insolvency. A cocktail reception will follow the discussion.

The Northwestern Journal of International Law and Business is a student-run, student-edited publication of Northwestern University School of Law. First published in 1979, JILB is dedicated to the analysis of transnational and international laws and their effects on private entities.
