Legal Ethics and Professional Responsibility
This 3 hour class will delve into the professional and ethical obligations of lawyers and judges. Course materials and discussions will focus on the meaning of being a lawyer, the lawyer’s role in the rule of law, and lawyer’s obligations to society and clients and the meaning of being a professional. Topics include: confidentiality and privilege, lawyer speech, the First Amendment, MJP, technology's impact, law practice structure,conflicts,lawyers as advocates, and judicial ethics.
