Music Law and Business

This course provides an overview of the music business and is designed to provide a basic framework for students to begin to understand the complex legal, business and financial issues facing the music industry. The focus of the lectures and materials will be an examination of the most significant contracts relating to the creation and exploitation of music. The major deal points from these contracts, and their financial impact, will be identified and explored.
