Name, Image, and Likeness in Sports

This course will teach students about the legal issues relating to the subjects of Name, Image, and Likeness and endorsements that athletes earn from sponsors. The course will also cover the basics of how antitrust law provides the backbone for sports law in the United States, the legal history of the NCAA, its current setup, the new NCAA regulations relating to Name, Image and Likeness, the legal landscape relating to Name, Image and Likeness in other areas of sports, the anatomy of drafting a sports endorsement contract, and what is likely to be the future of these issues in sports.
