Mindfulness means paying attention to your present-moment experience without judgment. It can help lawyers, and students/staff, deal with stress, understand themselves and others, and improve their performance and satisfaction. We cultivate mindfulness in silent meditation and deploy it in everyday life. At least 60 U.S. law schools offer meditation practice opportunities as do many law firms corporations, government agencies (including the U.S. military), and athletic and educational institutions at all levels. The sessions will include meditation practice and discussion of how mindfulness can relate to law practice and other aspects of life.
We have reserved
Cutting Hall (MC381) as a quiet space for students, faculty, and staff who wish
to participate while on campus. Instruction will be through Zoom, please bring
your own laptop and earphones.
