I am delighted to announce that Linda and Jeffrey Hammes (JD ’85) have generously committed $1 million to establish and fund the Hammes Family Scholarship, which will be used to provide scholarship support for students with demonstrated financial need and high academic achievement who are also of the first generation in their family to attend college.

As we shared in November 2023, I have created a working group comprised of members of the Law School’s Senior Leadership Team charged with developing concrete and constructive short- and longer-term programming that will help to increase understanding and combat hate. This working group launched in January 2024 and has been actively brainstorming ideas for programming that are consistent with these goals.

We have learned of a racist video that is circulating on social media. Based on our investigation, we have confirmed that the person who made this video is not a current student, but someone with a similar name appears to be a former student at the Law School.
