The Northwestern Law Vis Moot Team won first place at the Pre-Moot Competition held at Loyola University Chicago School of Law on February 14, 2015. The Northwestern Law team — Reyhan Bilici (JD ’16), Megan Needham (JD ’16), Ming Russell (JD ’16), and Noeli Serna (JD ’16) — earned the highest average score of the six schools taking part in the event. Bilici also received the best speaker award.

Adjunct professor Lawrence Schaner of Jenner & Block coached the team with assistant coach John Schleppenbach of the State of Illinois Office of the Attorney General. The teams that participated in the competition included three from Illinois and one each from Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Texas.

The Loyola pre-moot prepares teams for the annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot held each spring in Vienna, Austria. This year’s competition will be March 27–April 2, 2015.
