Young Alumni Leadership Council

In 2019, Northwestern Law launched its inaugural Young Alumni Leadership Council (YALC). Comprised of young alumni leaders from the five most recent graduating classes, this group of alumni ambassadors plays an integral role in alumni engagement, giving, and leadership.

Council members serve as liaisons between their classes and the Law School and come together as a group throughout the year to discuss key issues facing the young alumni community and share insights on how to best involve their classmates. These conversations have resulted in successful peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns led by the Council to areas that resonate most with the young alumni population, including a campaign raising over $3,800 for the Student Assistance and Relief (STAR) Fund.

The council also serves as a springboard into additional alumni engagement opportunities. As their council membership expires, YALC members have served as co-chairs and committee members for their 5th Reunion Committee, leading outreach and fundraising efforts for their respective classes during this milestone reunion. Additionally, because of YALC, a number of these young alumni have been connected to and become heavily engaged with the Law School’s alumni clubs and Firm and Corporate Challenge Program soon after graduation.

The Young Alumni Leadership Council is comprised of young alumni from all degree programs living across the globe and is always looking to empower the next generation of leaders at Northwestern Pritzker.
